ATS Global implements MES system for Carlsberg at their 15 Breweries in Europe

Project Scope

• Provide a global Carlsberg MES Blueprint
• Functional Design Specification
• Local installations with connections to Level 4 (SAP) and Level 2 (Control)

Solution Approach

• The implementation involved SIMATIC IT Production Suite, OEE/SPC and will eventually include the Unilab quality system
• Utilized the cross-industry library and the brewing industry library developed by Siemens Genoa to create a standardized approach with strict adherence to the ISA-95 model
• The core design for the MES layer covers the following:
  • Brewing and processing
  • Filling and packaging
  • Utilities – environmental
  • In-line and at-line quality
  • Integration with ERP/ SAP
  • Integration with controls/ SCADA
