Purpose
- Reducing the ash percentage of coal while maintaining gravity
- Implement a centralized solution that can capture and monitor data from the entire plant
- Monitor and analyse real time data. Take required actions to maintain gravity and decrease the ash percentage of the coal to improve quality
Project Scope
- Create a centralized repository and provide data to Coal Beneficiation group
- Develop a real time information application and configure to access data, process parameter reports, production and energy consumption reports
Solution Approach
- Real time data integration with 7 identified Rockwell PLCs from shop floor machines, Emerson DeltaV OPC server, Thermo OPC DP server
- Configured Historian server as plant wide data repository
- Real time information application development and configuration
The Results
- Real time Information is available to monitor and analyse the data
- Improved coal quality and mitigation of the human errors in maintaining quality
- Data from Historian used in analysis helped to decrease ash percentage of the coal
