ATS Deploys Ignition for Shopfloor Supervision and Data Historian for leading Glass Manufacturer

Purpose

• Replace an aging, obsolete and error prone Wonderware system with an Ignition based solution
• Phased project while enabling it for present and future needs
• Initially we lost the bid against their former Wonderware integrator so the bar was very high

Project Scope

• Shop floor supervision for the manufacturing plant (14 processes)
• Process data logging including automatic and manual operator-entered data
• Enable future phases (more functionality and interlocking with other Level 3 systems [Factivity])

Solution Approach

• Capture all the data generated, no matter the type or source
• Implemented a modular solution using Ignition allowing for future phases
• Implemented in a existing system while allowing to adopt a future different hardware / software architecture (redundancy, enterprise grade HW, SO independent)
