Purpose
- Required a quick and easy connection between shopfloor equipment and their quality and reporting systems.
Project Scope
- Acquire, parse and format data from several machines where the vendor was unable/unwilling to adjust data output format to their quality system standard.
Solution Approach
- List all equipment needing connections to quality system.
- Collect and analyse sample files/data from the equipment.
- Design and implement solution in test environment and provide sample inputs.
- Roll-out/replicate solution into production systems.
The Results
- All required equipment is now connected through ATS Bus, allowing them to connect new equipment to their systems without any further development, reducing their installation costs.
- Improvements in system communication has decreased their time-to-production implementation.
- The plant is a collaboration between three automotive producers and ATS Bus has been the main tool that has allowed them to communicate between their different production systems and equipment.
