Purpose
- Replace an aging, obsolete and error prone Wonderware system with an Ignition based solution
- Phased project while enabling it for present and future needs
- Initially we lost the bid against their former Wonderware integrator so the bar was very high
Project Scope
- Shop floor supervision for the manufacturing plant (14 processes)
- Process data logging including automatic and manual operator-entered data
- Enable future phases (more functionality and interlocking with other Level 3 systems [Factivity])
Solution Approach
- Capture all the data generated, no matter the type or source
- Implemented a modular solution using Ignition allowing for future phases
- Implemented in a existing system while allowing to adopt a future different hardware / software architecture (redundancy, enterprise grade HW, SO independent)
