On Sunday 3-09-2017 Mike James swam 2km for the yearly City Swim in the Canals of Amsterdam to raise money for the ALS Foundation.This will be for the benefit of the Stichting ALS disease, also called Motor Neuron Disease (MND), which is a collective name for muscular diseases which affect nerve cells.
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), Progressive Spinal Muscular Atrophy (PSMA) and Primair Lateral Sclerosis (PLS) are diseases that belong to MND. Even though MND is a collective name for these diseases, ALS is mostly used.
