ATS Global has crossed another milestone and celebrates its 30th anniversary. Over thirty years of hard work have passed since we first opened the company’s doors in The Netherlands and from a small start-up company with just 5 members it has become a successful global corporation with more than 425 employees and 23 offices worldwide.
New ATS Offices and Acquisitions
ATS has continued expanding since its 25th anniversary and following the motto “be where our market takes us,” has opened new offices in Ireland, Indonesia and Macedonia. During the last 10 years, the business has doubled every five years, a testament to customer satisfaction. Thanks to the acquisition of Australia’s Integrated Automation Pty Ltd, the ATS family has expanded with new members based in Melbourne who bring valuable experience in the field of system integration, control, industrial automation, and related services for manufacturers.
In another exciting development Teconomy B.V. in Badhoevedorp, The Netherlands has merged with ATS as of 1 October 2016. The Directors and founders of Teconomy, Marco van Oldeniel and Wobbe Storms, will continue to drive the business forward expanding Teconomy’s application management and virtualisation services throughout ATS’s global network. The new digital economy and Industry 4.0 demands rapid and dynamic change strategies and together ATS and Teconomy can fulfil this need.
Paul Bron, Chief Executive Officer at ATS explained the strategic importance of the expansion. “ATS wants to improve its product offering, services and capabilities across all aspects of Industry 4.0 and Teconomy fulfils an important need for rapid software change managements. We will continue to search for suitable companies to broaden our product offering and our global reach even further.“
In recent years ATS has acquired the real time SPC measurement software package QS-Pro from DTS Digital Ltd in the United Kingdom (now ATS SPC) and Widenhorn Industriële Automatisering B.V. from The Netherlands (now ATS EdgeIT B.V.), a CADCAM solutions supplier and specialist in services for manufacturers using advanced CNC machine.
ATS’s deep understanding of the manufacturing and process industries leads to effective innovation with the development of the highly flexible ATS ADOS suite. From a tiny start-up to a global player in 30 years with the much more to come!
Ford Cuts Quality Costs with ATS ADOS – Award Winning Solution for Smart Manufacturing and Industry 4.0
An example of an ATS Global solution: ATS recently delivered an Automotive Body Quality Solution to Ford where quality inspectors need to check overall dimensional body performance by measuring gap, flush, door closing velocity and force. Traditional tools only measure a fraction of the door closing performance but ATS ADOS allows manufacturers to visualize 100% of their performance. It takes an average of just 2 seconds to measure each section. All measured data is traceable by vehicle identification number. Vehicles with low performance are automatically blocked from shipment making it a perfect error proofing system. The experience with automotive industry and standardisation of the solutions allows ATS to rapidly deliver a solution to carmakers at an attractive price. It’s no secret that similar ATS quality solutions are used by 8 of the 10 largest carmakers. The ATS approach focuses on customer benefit rather than a love of technology for technology’s sake. ATS ADOS recently received a Frost and Sullivan’s New Product Innovation award as well as a 2016 Technishow Innovation Award.
Thank you to all our customers, employees, partners and suppliers for such wonderful cooperation over the past 30 years!
