A pilot project for a company producing animal food since 1987 in all leading pet food categories.
Expertise in the field of wet food in recent years expanded to include dry food, snacks and cakes.ATS implemented a quality control system on the filling machines. The filling machine fills aluminium trays with wet food, and an aluminium lid is sealed and fastened.
Sometimes in some packages the seal is not perfect, causing minimal leakage and a reason why products could end up in the store not in accordance with specifications.
The seal should be checked by a Vision System for damage and/or deformation causing the leakage. The damages can be so small that they cannot be identified with a trained human eye. Below is an example of a damaged seal (red box packaging at edge).
The pilot includes the implementation of a camera system on a portal where the system is constructed in such a way that we literally only need a power outlet to power the system.
Although the initial order value was small, a successful pilot can lead to the integration of the Cognex Vision Systems on all 15 filling lines (5 per line).
