YOUR JOB – What would be your everyday job?

We’re looking for someone with experience of or an active interest in innovation, particularly within manufacturing operations management and digital transformation. Whilst not a ‘technologist’ you’ll be just as comfortable articulating creative ways of deploying new technologies. Be a clear thinker, you’ll possess the ability to get to the heart of the matter and convert insight into simple, compelling ideas client solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• The implementation of the ATS Global strategy and goals to the ATS UK Innovation Project;
• To develop and grow relationships with key Universities, RTOs and HVM Catapults;
• To manage the reporting of the Innovation projects, including internal reporting, collaboration partners and to the Monitoring Offices;
• To manage relationships with the Internal stakeholders;
• To manage the Innovation bid process on new Innovation Projects including coordinating with ATS UK sales;
• To coordinate with ATS marketing on the promotion of the value of Innovation projects;
• Develop knowledge and understanding about the processes and technology behind the Innovation projects;
• Helping to articulate and develop a point of view in regard to emerging technologies;
• Engaging and collaborating with specialist teams and clients, informing and testing innovation efforts and priorities, and ensuring they are shaped by the needs of our clients and value proposition;
• Working with colleagues to build and maintain strong relationships across the different innovation teams within ATS UK and Global Divisions, ensuring that opportunities are identified and investigated;
• Contributing to the development of an innovation culture and capability by focusing on and sharing relevant customer, marketplace and technological trends and innovations;
• Attend all relevant innovation centre workshops, meetings and events, including governance;
• Proactively engaging with people outside the team to promote new ways of working, and seeking areas and opportunities to improve.

YOUR PROFILE – qualifications you will need

Experience of successful project delivery along with the ability to bring commercial insight and views to the innovation agenda is essential. You’ll also have experience or an aptitude for establishing, managing and delivering projects and activities using agile methodologies, and be familiar with customer centric design and the ‘fail fast’ methodology.

In addition to this, you’ll demonstrate:

• Excellent communication skills, confidence working with a range of stakeholders, peers and the ability to convey information and ideas clearly to build understanding;
• The ability to influence and challenge to drive new ways of working and to deliver innovative solutions;
• Strong analytical, presentation and reporting skills at peer, senior and executive management levels;
• Good commercial awareness and an understanding of business finance;
• MS PowerPoint and Excel skills;
• Confident skill in MS Project is an advantage but not essential.
